Hi folks

Im kinda new to Oracle, have some "limited" experience. Embarassed

My problem a application upgrade required a new server and more......

Today's production is on a old win 2000 with oracle 9
the new so far only "test" environment have
Win 2003 and oracle 10.
Database structure (schema's, tablespaces and so) are identical.
What i need is...

1. Clear the data in the new environment.
2. Move data from old environment to the new.

Is this a good approach ?? or should i just delete database in the new env and create a new and then import ? If so how can i get the create script from the old env ?

(I did some of the work in the new env, but they guy who did most of the Oracle stuff doesn't want to share them Sad and my boss says i have to do this...)

anyway thanks in advance for any help...

Nothing is impossible for the person who does not have to actually do it.

Too bad for you that you need to depend upon the kindness of strangers to do your job for you.

How are backups being done on the old system?

Follow the documented restore procedure, but restore on new system.
