Hello,

Am new in this forum and in Oracle 10g administration and .
I am trying to use the EM 10g Database control but when I enter the URL http//hostname:5500/em, I get a page which is marked as null. I mean, the listener and the connection agent are marked as "unavailable".

So I entered the command emctl status dbconsole and the result says the EM Daemon isnt running, that is :

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur>set oracle_sid=dbtest

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur>emctl status dbconsole
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
http://srvinet.afogic.local:5500/em/console/aboutApplication
EM Daemon is not running.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Logs are generated in directory D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/srvinet.afogic.loc
al_dbtest/sysman/log

As the server hosts 2 databases, I ran the same command against the second database and there, the result was:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur>set oracle_sid=meta4

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur>emctl status dbconsole
OC4J Configuration issue. D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_srvinet.afogic.local_meta4 not found.

How do I start the EM Daemon?
How do I create the OC4J_DBConsole? Is it the same as the OC4J of oracle forms?

Thanks in advance

what happens when u set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID and start dbconsole? "emctl start dbconsole"

If it fails, then u need to check the logs in D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/srvinet.afogic.local_dbtest/sysman/log and determine why the daemon (agent) didn't start.

You need to create dbcontrol for each database. If the folder D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_srvinet.afogic.local_meta4 doesn't exist use emca and create the dbcontrol

Check the Oracle docs for more details abt emca.
