Hi all,

Db version : 9.2.0.8 on windows

Will extent size matter to database performance??
I have read somewhere that it doesn't matter.
But somewhere I read that you create separate big tablespace(having extent extent big)for big tables & small for small tables.
But I think that blocks of extents spread anywhere on disk & so it shouldn't matter if no. of extents are more or less.
Am I right??
Will performance of database deteriotes if no. of extents are more than 100?

Use a locally managed tablespace with system autoallocate/system extents (unless you have very precise reasons to not do so).

LMT does not suffer from thousands of extents.
