Hi All,

I have a 10.1.0.2 database and i want to upgrade it to 10.2.0.4,the database is running on windows server 2003.Please assist with the steps to follow.

None of the stated reason,i downloaded the 10.2.0.4 patch and installed it but i could not upgrade because i got an error "Ther are no release components to upgrade" and a suggestion i got was that i must install 10.2 software then install the patch and upgrade to 10.2.0.4,one of the things i want to know is can i install for example 10.2.0.1 software and use the DUA to upgrade the DB and then 10.2.0.4 patch?Or what is a better way.

How do you/I reconcile these 2 statements?
Why can't/doesn't Oracle Universal Installer know about the existing database?
