I would like to know if a session consumes 35% of the CPU at a certain point of it's processing, will that resources be returned back to the server when it's no longer in use while the user session remains login but idle on the database?
Thanks for your input in advance.

The reason being for me raising the this question is that we noticed that after a session completed it's processing, the "uptime" of our DB server doesn't change unless I asked the user to logout his session. As soon as the user logouts the uptime started to come down...
I also noticed that v$sysstat captures cummulative information and not at point in time information.
Anyways, any input is appreciated...
