hi all,


what is the difference of using command these two below commands?
kinldy reply me with the answer.


kill -9 spid

alter system kill session 'sid','serial#' immediate;

kill -9 immediatly kills the session and let PMON do the job to rollback the transaction and release lock.
ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION is explained in the doc with all its variants.

KILL IS AN UNIX ONE
AND ALTER SESSION IS AN ORACLE ONE.
