I could not find a patch in the CPUApr2008 release for 10.2.0.1 databases. Please help me in finding out appropirate patch.

By going through all the available patches for 10.2.0.1 I came across the DB 10.2.0.4 patchset3 that is available please advice if this is the one I need to go with.If I need to apply this patchset3 should I need to follow upgrade method after applying the patches. Please let me know.

Few databases has already been upgraded to 10.2.0.3 with patchset2 and the CPUApr2008 has got the latest patch set recommendation and I can go with it.

Please suggest.

Thank You, Then I will go with the CPUApr08 patches available for v10.2.0.3 and leave the v10.2.0.1 untouched until oracle releases for this version.

Oracle will NEVER release it for 10.2.0.1, Oracle releases CPU ONLY for latest patchsets.

I don't know how to say it in other way but:
- there is a CPU for 10.2.0.3
- there will NEVER EVER be a CPU for 10.2.0.1

Is this clear now?

Regards
Michel

In case if I wanted to go for 10.2.0.4 should I do an upgrade from 10.2.0.1 to have all the latest patches. I have standby's running on 10.2.0.1.I appreciate if you could provide me a metalink note.

I believe the other systems that were in 10.2.0.3(lsinventory shows patchset 2 with 22 interim patches installed) at present were initially installed with 10.2.0.1 and upgraded.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
