i am a little confuse about the file extensions used in the oracle database..when i am trying to create tablespace i have seen that in the book some where the file extension is .dat & another .ora..i am confused what file extension i have to use??
not only that i have noticed that the pre defined table spaces are in .dbf...what is the difference between those...

please tell me as soon as possible..

Oracle doesn't care about file extension. Use those you want.
