Hi,

I have a Suse linux with oracle installed.
Then i have taken the image of the Suse Linux.

Now i am using that image in Windows through VMWare.
But when i tested listner status it shows me an error.
Please find the attachment of the error.

Can we use image of Suse with Oracle in VWWare?
If yes then how can i resolve the error which i specified.

I find the following solution.....
Error:	ORA-12543 / TNS-12543
Text:	TNS:destination host unreachable
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cause:	Contact can not be made with remote party.
Action:	Make sure the network driver is functioning and the network is up.

But i donot understand it.

Please reply.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can still use Oracle. It just looks like you need to reconfigure your listener. Can you make a bequeath connection to your database?

I have tested listner and find that it does not starts.
But the interesting which i observed is that without listner i can able to connect to user and do normal operations now.

Just i started sqlpus then startup database and it works.

oracle@linux:~> sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
