hi

I create Page no 14 where in two text item created such as
p14_id_no and p14_name. As soon as i enter value in
p14_id_no, querry should fire as "Select name into p14_name from
emp where id_no = p14_id_no".
In otherwise based on text item when i enter, immediately
all other items should get populated using some querry.

This can be achieved through button where i can attach querry.
But i do not want it. I want to achieve through computation.
While using computation it is giving option before header,
after header,on load etc.

i am confused.. please help me.

i am using my fathers id

Not that it matters, but - what is what in
Quote:

d/o dr.s.raghunathan

i.e. what is "r.", what is "anugraha", what is "d/o", I guess "dr.s.raghunathan" is you nickname on OraFAQ Forum but what are "dr.", "s." and "raghunathan"). I'm completely confused, as the only two words I understood were "thanks" and "yours". (Obviously, I'm not very smart).

uncle.
so far i moved or dealt with indian counterpart not to the
foreign personalities.

i am extremely sorry for the created confusion and the poor
english

i will slowly understand and try to adopt myself to the other
part of world.

anyway thanks for the suggestion you offered. But still
i am unable to make out the solution even after visiting the
specified sites. Hope it may take some more time to
familiarize since lots of jargon under the name of htmldb.

Thank you for the explanation!

If I understood you correctly, your first name is Anugraha, and your last name is Raghunathan.
Dr. Sowrirajan Raghunathan appears to be your father.
Right?

Out of curiosity - why did you choose to use your father's name instead your own?

Finally, there's nothing wrong with your English; after all, it is a foreign language for most of us. I didn't know that uncle or brother are used in such a way in India. So - today I have learnt something new!

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your problem. Terribly sorry.

Isn't there a trigger equivalent to Forms' When-Validate-Item. This trigger only fires when the contents of the field/item is changed.

In it, run your 'select' statement to populate the next field. I believe this logic is quite common in the various tutorials available with APEX and also in the Oracle Magazine examples.
