If i have to store data in multiple languages,which character set would work?

Do i need to recreate the database to chnage the charcter set?

I have to use hindi and english both on some tables.
I have to load data through sql loader.
When i query i shall see english and Hindi data in there corresponding columns.

I guess i have to use UTF-8 but do i need to recreate the database

I didn't get this

In this case, you have to use AL32UTF8 and recreate the database unless your current database character set is US7ASCII.

So,AL32UTF8 supports multiple languages and is a strict super set of US7ASCII.

My database has US7ASCII character set.
So just
SQL>alter database character set AL32UTF8;

would solve the issue.

Yes, if you correctly use the database. Check with csscan.

So these are the steps

1)alter database set character set AL32UTF8;
2)shutdown immediate
3)Start up

?
