What is the Oracle Data Gatherer?

The Data Gatherer (DG) is an underlying service that Capacity Planners (CP)
and Performance Monitors (PM) use to gather operating system and database
statistics. The Data Gatherer is available on most platforms from Oracle version
8.0.4 or 8.0.5.

There is no separate user manual for the DG. More information about the DG can
be obtained from the OEM Configuration Guide.
